Hot Spots on Dogs

What to Do If Your Pet Is Overheated

What to Do If Your Pet Is Overheated

Heat exhaustion, or heat stroke, is a common pet emergency during these warmer months.  Dogs are not able to cool themselves by sweating the way people do.  Instead, they primarily cool themselves by panting. “Finn was seen by oncology and then surgery to remove a cancerous mass on his leg. He was comfortable with everyone that interacted with him and could tell he was being well cared for. I appreciated that the team was clear and communicative and gave me many options, but also still gave me time to process and ask questions with no pressure. Finn may not be completely cancer free now, but he is more comfortable and healing well. I would definitely recommend AERC to other pet lovers.”
