We recommend having your pet evaluated by your family veterinarian or local animal emergency hospital within 24 hours. Always call ahead. Note: a tourniquet is dangerous if in place for more than twenty minutes &#8211; so only apply if you can get to a vet quickly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Keep in mind that even the gentlest dogs can bite even you when panicked and in pain.
