Well, here are just a few reasons why:<\/p>\n<p>1. A senior pet may seem content in the shelter, but they want a new home just as much as any other pet there!<br \/>\n2. A senior pet is just as cute, cuddly, warm, and loveable as any other pet.<br \/>\n3. Just because they are older, doesn\u2019t mean they have a long list of problems. People bring pets to shelters for many different reasons. If there are any issues you need to be aware of, you will know before the adoption. A shelter provides full examinations on their pets, so you will know exactly what medical condition the pet is in.<br \/>\n4. Speaking of full examinations, this will save you a lot of money! Shelters will already have most vaccinations and operations paid for. This includes spaying\/neutering!<br \/>\n5. Senior pets typically don\u2019t need a whole lot of training. They already know most basic commands, are housebroken, and well-behaved. You can always teach a pet new tricks and commands! A pet can learn new things at any age.<br \/>\n7. They don\u2019t require constant monitoring. Puppies need 24\/7 surveillance or else they might chew on furniture, pee on the floor, or dig up the garden. Most likely, a senior pet already knows how to behave.<br \/>\n8. Senior pets are also less energetic than puppies. An older pet prefers lounging around the house more than playing every second of the day. If a calmer pet fits your lifestyle better than an energizer puppy, then a senior pet is the way to go!<br \/>\n9. They quickly adapt to a new home. After being in a shelter, senior pets are ready to settle in with a loving family!<br \/>\n10. You will be a hero. You can save a senior pet\u2019s life. Some shelters are overcrowded and they need to make room for other pets. This often means a shelter has to euthanize older pets who are not being adopted. In addition to saving your pet, you could also save another pet!
